If you frequently ask others to repeat themselves, have trouble understanding speech in noisy places, or feel like you can hear sounds but not clearly understand words, it may be time for a hearing evaluation. A professional hearing test is the most reliable way to determine whether hearing aids or another solution would benefit you.
You might notice:
Difficulty understanding speech in restaurants or group settings
Increasing the TV volume beyond what others find comfortable
Missing parts of phone conversations
Trouble hearing children or higher-pitched voices
Feeling mentally fatigued after conversations
Ringing or buzzing in your ears (tinnitus)
Yes. This is a very common symptom of hearing loss. Even when volume seems adequate, clarity, especially in background noise, is often reduced.
If hearing challenges are affecting your daily life, relationships, or work, it’s a good idea to schedule a hearing test sooner rather than later. Early intervention often leads to better outcomes.
Your first visit follows a comprehensive process: case history, ear exam, hearing evaluation, and clear next steps/recommendations.
Most appointments are typically around an hour (varies by needs). We’ll confirm timing when you schedule.
Yes. Brookway offers baseline testing, screenings, and consultations to help you understand your hearing and options.
A screening is a quick snapshot; a comprehensive test provides deeper insight and guides a personalized plan.
Baseline testing establishes your “starting point” so future changes can be tracked and detected earlier.
Consider asking:
What type and degree of hearing loss do I have?
Would I benefit more from one hearing aid or two?
Which features best fit my lifestyle needs?
What services are included (adjustments, cleanings, follow-ups)?
What are the warranty, trial period, and return policies?

Most individuals adapt over a few weeks. Your brain needs time to reacclimate to sounds that may not have been heard clearly for some time.
It’s common to have a check-in within the first 1–2 weeks, another around 30–90 days, and routine maintenance visits afterward.
Real-ear measurement is a verification process that measures how sound is delivered inside your ear canal. It ensures your hearing aids are programmed to match your prescription as accurately as possible.
Many people benefit from wearing two devices for better sound balance and speech clarity. However, recommendations depend on your hearing test results and communication goals.
